Back Home - New Movies and Music
Hello! Feels great to be home and back in the swing of things. If you didn’t know, I’ve been in Europe for the past month with SPACED on tour and didn’t get a chance to write because my laptop got jacked in Antwerp.
I planned on writing about my experiences, specifically related to music and movies, and well, you can’t really do that without the thing you need to write and post on! Shiz happens.
Being laptopless, I had to bum my bud’s computer and did what I could on there, but never could manage enough time for this. Now I have a new computer and am so back baby! I apologize for the lack of posts and hope you understand.
Besides the laptop situation, it was a blast and I got to see a lot of great bands. Not too many movies–given the travel requirements of ripping gigs, although I did enjoy quite a few on the plane and had a few movie nights with the gang.
Bands
Buggin - Probably my favorite band I’ve toured with. Been a fan of their tunes for a couple of years; very cool to watch in person every night.
Urban Sprawl - Really sick band that’s on Rev. Great live show and they couldn’t have been nicer.
Going Off - Had the pleasure of playing three shows with them and they rock. Sick energy and tones.
Movies
Tin & Tina (2023) - I don’t know what this was, couldn’t finish it! Typical Netflix horror flick.
Frances Ha (2012) - So great. One of the best movies on poor decision-making and impulsivity.
Angels in the Outfield (1994) - Childhood film that I watched for the first time in years on the plane. Doesn’t really hold up but good times were had!
Funny Pages (2022) - One of my favs from 2022, so damn good and hilarious.
August Rush (2007) - Felt like a mainstream version of a Terrence Malick flick. Not bad, but not for me.
Joker (2019) - Watched for the fourth or fifth time to pass the time on the plane. Phoenix is great–movie itself is decent.
Moving Forward
Now that I have a laptop, expect my usual two posts a week (one free and one paid). I’ll be out of town this weekend for some shows but plan to have a post go out this weekend. Hoping to see Barbie and Oppenheimer; should be fun! Have a good rest of the week and thank you for the support!
